Over the last 4 semesters in the NGLP program we always have talked about what it means to be a leader and what qualities do leaders possess.
Gary Moore, the co-founder of nonPareil, and our main contact on our legacy project is a true leader. He his one of the most inspiring men that Grant and I have ever worked or been associated with.
Over the last 2 weeks Grant and I have hit many road blocks as we try and put together our event. We have met with several people about what we are trying to do and we haven't met the right person to back us and partner with us yet. We seem to be on a cold streak. I definitely feel like entrepreneurs seeking investment as we go to each office pitching and selling nonPareil and its vision. It is 5 weeks until our set date of March 29th and we have so much to do. Grant and I have been very stressed about not reaching our initial goals and not being able to partner with anyone. We are both very passionate about helping nonPareil so we have been so eager to lock some concrete details down about our event... But no matter our passion we have definitely been a little bogged down with this extra project added on to upcoming graduation and for me wedding....
Grant and I have been meeting several times a week almost everyday planning who we are meeting with and where to go from here. Tonight we had a conference call with our client Gary and wow did he get us fired up.
As we spoke with Gary about where we were with everything, his sincerity and his passion for nonPareil and its future shined through immensely. He truly appreciates our work and everything that we are trying to do. He isn't stressed about being behind and is very encouraging and understanding of our situations. He not only motivated us more to make sure we get this event on track again but he also truly inspiried and up lifted us.
As soon as Grant and I ended our conversation with Gary we both looked at each other and were so pumped up about what we were doing. We both felt the feeling inside of us as he spoke to us and motivated us to get this done. It is hard to put it to words but Gray is the kind of leader I want to be.
He is chasing his dreams and passions in a very realistic business savvy way while seeking to create true value in the community and around the world. He is creating change and will reach his vision with nonPareil. I have no doubt.
I want to be the leader Gary is and to be able to speak in a way where I get others to follow me and to accomplish great things like him.
